24 premiere party
my friend wingnut had a premiere party last night to celebrate this season's premiere of 24. we all had a ton of fun. i ended up driving up with a girl who lives up at school in the same building which was an interesting experience. wingnut had had a big crush on her his last year at school, but nothing really came of it. well i got to spend an entire car ride up to wingnut's house with her pumping me for information about him and trying to find out my position in our group of friends. she's known me for over a year and she still doesn't seem to realize how i fit into the group. just because the group is made up of a bunch of guys, me, and then their wives and girlfriends, does not mean that i'm some sort of weird obstacle in her attempts to get at my friend. good grief.
anyway, the party was a blast. got to watch 4 or 5 episodes from last season to build up the suspense before the premiere. also got to see two of my friends and their wives, since they have all graduated and now have real jobs, who i haven't seen in quite a while. kind of funny to realize how many of my friends are now married or in committed relationships and i'm still the lone single, but it's cool. i like my current relationship status. i also got to meet the new girl in wingnut's life. she's really great. she even brought cookies over. good cookies too.
the 24 premiere was sweet!! sarahk says it best with her post here and we all totally got annoyed by this, but we survived. it was a great premiere. four hours of fantastic television. only downside to the whole thing was my stupid ra decided to have a floor meeting tonight at 8pm when 24 started. what idiot schedules a meeting during somethign as important as this.
eh, well now i've got to try and pay the ticket i got for leaving my car at a meter overnight. stupid city ordinances. just cause a gal doesn't want to walk from a dark, scary parking lot late at night she doesn't deserve a ticket. heck the weekend before classes started some girl got kidnapped by a sex offender and thankfully the police pulled over the car and she was able to indicate to him that she wasn't in the car by choice and everything ended well. needless to say, i'd much rather get parking tickets in this case.
